What we help with
We work to help answer these mental health questions as quickly and as accurately as possible.
A first or second opinion on my issue (or a loved one’s) ?
What don’t I know / What am I missing?
What are my options
What is going on with me or a loved one?
MHAI is designed for people who know that something is not right and are self motivated to find out more.
The NHS is not good at supporting this growing self diagnosis phenomenon. They did not adapt well to the “I Googled it” era, so it is not looking good for the AI generation.
At MHAI we think there is huge value in your AI chats, they are gold dust to a good therapist.
We also study AI’s weaknesses and short falls.
What have I missed, don’t I know?
One of the main weaknesses of an AI system is that it can only deal with what is in front of them. Lateral thinking is non-existent.
The danger here is a narrowing of your AI research, and a hyper focusing on the detail.
Our service provides both a second opinion your AI analysis and a widing of the lense. You and your AI don’t know what you don’t know. Our experts know the right questions to ask, and these new insights can give real clarity.
What are my available options
Possibly the most problematic step in the UK’s mental health service is the what next?
Weakness 1: From diagnosis to treatment
AI can’t help because the information is not published or organised.
There are NHS services: GPs, 111 and localised crisis services and telephone services, but it is so confusing. There is no top down planning of the services, massive regional variations, and the service is delivered by newly qualified people. And if they do recommend an NHS service be prepared to wait a long time.
Private is no better: In this field you only have therapists looking for work, and there is a bias built in to the system. They will most likely recommend the service they offer, and will only help if book an appointment. Statistically, you would need to have 3-4 consultation appointments before you find a services relevant to your needs. That is a lot of time wasted.
